Empowering Patients to Feel Better and Live Better
As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, I am passionate about helping people prevent, or better manage, physical and mental health conditions with Medical Nutrition Therapy. Food is medicine!
As an outpatient dietitian for the past twelve years, I have counseled many patients in individual and group settings to help manage, or prevent chronic conditions such as Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, weight concerns, emotional eating and gastrointestinal conditions such as IBS and Celiac Disease with a "food as medicine" approach. Helping clients treat these chronic conditions with diet and lifestyle changes has been a passion of mine! Working closely with families, I have worked with selective eaters and overweight children, to create healthy, positive mealtime and lifestyle habits. My background also includes working with young and mature adults with emotional eating or disordered eating challenges to help them make peace with food and bring them to a path of recovery by using a mindful eating approach.
My experience in reproductive medicine allowed me to work with women from the teenage years to late forties with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome to manage symptoms with diet and lifestyle changes and where appropriate, with medication prescribed by their physicians.
My patients range in age from zero (prenatal nutrition!) to ninety-two!
